Our gorgeous handspun yarn has been produced using Cashmere fibre from our own Cashmere goats from our regenerative farm in Angus, Scotland. As nature friendly farmers, we adopted regenerative agriculture principles to produce our Cashmere that works in harmony with our goats, nature and our treasured environment.
We tend to our herd of 125 Scottish Cashmere Goats along the stunning coastline of Lunan Bay, the only fibre producing Cashmere herd in the whole of Scotland and UK.
Every Spring we gently hand comb our goats’ cashmere winter undercoats, which this naturally cast at this time of year. On average, Cashmere goats only produce around 200g of super soft Cashmere fibre per year hence why Cashmere is so highly prized.
Once harvested, our Scottish Cashmere is dehaired by Border Mill, an artisan micro-mill in the Scottish Borders and then it is meticulously washed, hand-carded and hand-spun by expert spinner, Fred Porchez of Wish Ewe Were Here based in Angus. At this stage our Cashmere is blended from the finest fibres from Merino and Shetland sheep, and Angus Alpacas.
