Description

Llyen Wool by Carmont Valley – 100g DK Skein – Natural Dyed

Sourced from Carmont Valley’s lovingly reared flock of Llyen sheep, this 100g skein of DK-weight wool is naturally soft, airy, and full of character. Naturally dyed by sheep farmer and fibre enthusiast Julie Robertson, it reflects the natural white fleece of this native breed — ideal for garments, accessories, or colourwork bases.

Carmont Valley is a small sheep farm in near Stonehaven in Aberdeenshire, led by a passionate team committed to land stewardship, biodiversity, and ethical wool production. Their grass-fed flock of Llyen sheep (a hardy Welsh breed), produce fibre that’s full of life, bounce, and authenticity.

🌿 Why you’ll love it:

  • 100g skein – approx. 237m

  • DK weight

  • Naturally dyed – choose from Madder (Rust), Brazilwood (Orange), Weld (Warm gold), Indigo (Blue), Pomegranate (Soft yellow)

  • 100% Llyen sheep wool – soft, and Scottish-grown

  • Spun in the UK with no harsh chemical processing

  • Medium wool, perfect for sweaters, mitts, shawls or natural dyeing projects

By choosing this yarn, you’re supporting small-scale farming and farm education.

🐑 About Carmont Valley

Carmont Valley Livestock is a small sheep farm just east of Stonehaven in Aberdeenshire, run by passionate wool producer Julie Robertson. Home to a flock of 160 Lleyn sheep, the farm focuses on soil health, biodiversity, and ethical animal care. Julie’s commitment to wool extends from field to fibre — offering educational shearing and fleece workshops, and producing high-quality yarns from her flock’s softest young gimmers.

At Carmont Valley, every skein tells a story of place, purpose, and sustainable farming in the northeast of Scotland.
