I visited Lunan Bay Farm as part of a summer research project on natural fibers. Jillian was incredibly welcoming and generous with her time. She introduced me to the goats and taught me about the time, effort, and care that goes into regenerative cashmere production. I’m so grateful I had the opportunity to learn from a team that is so passionate and knowledgeable about what they do. Fantastic experience! I couldn’t recommend a visit more.

I cannot say enough about my experience at Lunan Bag Goat Farm! My husband and I paid for the 90 min private goat meet and greet, and yarn barn shopping. What we got was so much more magical! Anne and Jayne led our tour, and it was like spending the afternoon with good friends we had known all our lives. I have traveled around the world and these were two of the most lovely and welcoming women I have ever met. We played with the goats and learned all about their care and how they are brushed for their cashmere. As an avid knitter it was a dream. Shout out to Glennis the prettiest goat I’ve ever seen! After the goat experience we sat in the yarn barn with cool lemon water and friendly chat, I bought so much gorgeous local yarn! We could have left after 90 min, but we were offered even more! We walked the grounds and were taught about how the farms works to help endanger butterflies, how they work with a local mason restoring the pill box on their property from WWII, and migration of swallows who roost there. I knew little to nothing about these conservation efforts, but Jayne is clearly so passionate about them it made my heart warm! This business cares deeply for the environment and history, and it was so wonderful. We were invited to walk along the beautiful beach nearby and even up the hill to the Red Castle Ruins. Our tour ended with a long chat at their kitchen counter with cold soda and fresh strawberries. We tried to tip them for their extra time and were declined, instead I was given a Scottish “Bosie” - a hug ❤️ Of our 10 day trip to Scotland this was by far my favorite day. Thank you so much!

I attended the 'Cashmere Goat Therapy Retreat' on August 9th and it exceeded all expectations. Prior to going I did wonder if it would be value for money and I can now say that it absolutely it is. From arrival to departure, it was a fantastic day. Just when you wonder if you have followed the correct road, one of the team was there to guide you to the parking area. There is a toilet and also hand washing facilities for before and after handling the goats. It was great that the event was for adults only. The best hour was with the goats and feeding them their favourite plants. An ample goat to human ratio too. It was also lovely to see and hear about the context of the farm and see some of the nature on-site. I enjoyed hearing about the role of the farm in cashmere production. Tea and cake in the garden isn't just tea and cake - when we arrived up at the house, the table was already set with scones, shortbread, strawberries and immediately offered a tea or coffee. That would have ticked the boxes but the cake was still to come. A choice of two cakes and I was also impressed that allergies had been taken into account. I had kept my fingers crossed that I could eat something. The ladies apologised that I couldn't have the chocolate cake as it contained nuts. No need for an apology as the alternative was my favourite Victoria sponge. Time overran a little which added to the relaxed feel of the afternoon. Fantastic day and I'd love to come back and cuddle the goats again.

Myself and my daughter had a therapy day at Lunan Bay farm on Sunday 19th July . We had a great time meeting the goats. Jillian and her team were very informative about what it takes to care for the goats and the process that they go through to get the cashmere to be able to make items with . We had a lovely afternoon tea with homemade scones, cakes and traybakes just to finish off our day. We would highly recommend anyone to visit Lunan Farm , meet Jillian and her team and of course the goats. Can’t wait to meet them all again next year. Violet and Lynn Davidson

A truly wonderful afternoon out in a beautiful location. The presentations were fascinating and informative, not only about the goats but about the local wildlife more generally. The goats were adorable and the afternoon tea superb. I would recommend it to all visitors to Scotland as well as to those who live here.

As the Goats in Coats winner (2026), my prize included visiting the Goat Therapy Retreat. It was such a lovely afternoon up close with the goats, feeding them and learning about them. Jillian and her volunteers are so welcoming, and tea and cakes were a wonderful end to the session. And there is a well stocked Yarn Barn and shop!

My sister and I enjoyed our visit to the Lunan Bay Farm very much. We booked a private tour and spent 2 hours with the goats. Jilian is very nice and enthusastic and told us very much about the goats and the cashmere. Fantastic place to visit.

Running here to post after Goats In Coats today. I really can't emphasise how great of an experience this was. It was impeccably organised to start, and the entire experience was magical. Getting to see the goats of all ages play and just being goats was amazing. Of course the highlight was the cuddle station. Most importantly, praise for the staff. Never visited somewhere with more friendly and welcoming people. Extra shout out to the gent at the ticket area who spoke to us on our way in and explained the event, the woman on the goat food stall, the staff who were roaming and chatting to visitors, all of the cuddle station staff, and the young man who was driving all the vistors around on the buggy tour. You might not feel like you did anything extraordinary, but you were all lovely and somehow made seeing goats an even more amazing experience. I would use any excuse to come here in future and will definitely be back next year. :)
