Do I need to book in advance?
Yes. All of our Private Experiences are available by advance booking only. We are a working farm rather than a visitor attraction with daily opening hours, so please do not arrive without a confirmed booking. To book or enquiry, email enquiries@lunanbayfarm.com or call via What’s app on +447446993363.
When are Private Experiences available?
Our Private Experiences are generally available on selected dates between June and October. Availability varies around farming activities, events and the seasons, so advance booking is recommended. Contact us with your preferred dates and times.
Will we get to meet the goats?
Yes. Spending time with our Cashmere goats is at the heart of our farm experiences.
Depending on the animals, season and experience booked, you may be able to stroke, feed and spend time amongst the herd. All animal encounters are supervised and the welfare of our goats always comes first.
Are children welcome?
Yes. Children are very welcome on our Private Experiences and must be supervised by a responsible adult at all times.
What should I wear?
Please dress for a working Scottish farm and check the weather forecast before travelling. Comfortable outdoor clothing, layers, waterproofs and sensible footwear are recommended.
For Private Experiences, we also have dry robes available if the weather turns particularly wet.
What happens if the weather is bad?
The majority of our experiences continue in typical Scottish weather. We have covered visitor areas which allow us to adapt the experience if conditions are wet.
Please dress appropriately for the forecast. Dry robes are also available for visitors taking part in our Private Experiences.
On the rare occasion that severe weather means we need to cancel an experience for safety or animal-welfare reasons, we will contact you and issue a full refund.
Is the farm accessible?
We welcome visitors with mobility and accessibility requirements and have accessible visitor facilities.
As Lunan Bay Farm is a working farm, some ground surfaces are naturally more challenging than others. If you have particular mobility, sensory or accessibility requirements, please tell us when booking so we can advise you and adapt your visit wherever possible.
Can I bring a pushchair?
Yes. Pushchairs are welcome and our main visitor routes are suitable for them.
Please remember that this is a working farm and some surfaces may be uneven depending on weather conditions.
Can I bring my dog?
Only service and guide dogs are permitted within the farm visitor areas, and they must be kept on a lead at all times.
Other dogs are permitted in the car park area but cannot enter the farm or animal areas.
Lunan Bay beach is very close to the farm, so visitors travelling with dogs may wish to walk them on the beach before or after their visit.
Can I take photographs?
Absolutely. Personal photography and video are very welcome during your visit.
If you share your photos or videos on social media, we’d love you to tag us @lunanbayfarm.
For professional photography, commercial filming or organised content creation, please contact us in advance.
Are there toilets and parking?
Yes. We have onsite parking, toilet and handwashing facilities for our pre-booked visitors.
Can we visit the Goat to Garment Shop?
Yes. Visitors taking part in our Private Experiences have the opportunity to visit our Goat to Garment shop, where you can browse our Scottish Cashmere, locally produced yarns and fibres, gifts and other carefully selected products.
Can you arrange something special for a birthday or celebration?
Yes. We love creating memorable private visits and can tailor experiences for birthdays, anniversaries and other special occasions.
Depending on availability, we can discuss additions including refreshments, Scottish food, textile demonstrations and other elements when you enquire.
