Terroir

Our light, well-draining soils and unusual microclimate in the North East of Scotland are perfect for growing asparagus and give ours spears their unique flavour.

We started to grow the “king of vegetables’; asparagus in 2017. Our area benefits from having the most sunlight and some of the longest days in Scotland. We currently grow three varieties of green asparagus which have been specially selected to complement our soil and environment in our coastal location in Angus.

All of our crop is grown outside as nature intended, without the use of poly tunnels. Commercial asparagus growing is relatively new in Scotland so we do not experience problems with pests, so we keep spraying to a minimum. The utmost care and attention is required for both growing and harvesting this notorious difficult to grow vegetable which we provide in spades.
