Our Scottish grown asparagus is grown, harvested by hand, graded and packed by our small but dedicated at our farm at Lunan Bay in the North East of Scotland.
We harvest by hand in the early hours of the morning when the flavour is at its optimum. We hand select dark green spears with blushing purple tips which are completely closed. We use vintage tractors (David Brown 1412) to tend to our asparagus to minimise soil compaction.
“We sustainably produce asparagus, free range goat meat and honeyberries on our farm at Lunan Bay in the North East of Scotland. Especially now, there is a greater desire by the public to source locally produced food and to have a much closer connection with the producer. For us transparency, education and provenance are key. This open approach allows our customers have a deeper understanding and appreciation of what it takes to produce food ethically and sustainably’”, Jillian McEwan, Director of Lunan Bay Farm.
