Knit a jumper for our baby goats, see your creation at Goats in Coats 2026, and be in with a chance to win a Scottish Cashmere Goat Therapy Retreat + a night at Arbikie’s Ood House (worth £500).
We’re inviting knitters of all abilities to help dress our baby goats for Goats in Coats 2026 and to be part of something joyful, sustainable and unmistakably Lunan Bay Farm.
This spring, our newborn cashmere kids will be stepping out in hand-knitted jumpers made by our community. Some of your creations will be worn by the goats themselves, with all entries proudly displayed at the festival.
If you’ve ever wanted to see a goat wearing something you made… this is your moment.

This competition is about much more than tiny jumpers:
🧶 Encouraging hand knitting: Our pattern is beginner-friendly and perfect for first-time garment knitters
♻️ Championing sustainability: A brilliant way to use up odd balls, leftovers and treasured yarn scraps
🐐 Building excitement for Goats in Coats 2026: Including the chance to spot your jumper on a baby goat
💛 Keeping our kids cosy: Practical, beautiful knitwear made with care
All competition entries must be knitted using our official Goats in Coats jumper pattern, developed specifically for our growing baby goats.
For animal welfare and fit, our sizing must be used.
Beyond that, creativity is encouraged:
✔️ Add stripes, colourwork, textures or simple motifs
✔️ Use any yarn fibres you love, especially leftovers and odd balls
✔️ Make it playful, bold, subtle or classic
To keep our goats safe and comfortable:
❌ No buttons, zips or hard embellishments
❌ Nothing that could catch, rub or be chewed
✔️ Soft, flexible, goat-friendly finishes only
If it’s soft enough for a baby goat cuddle, you’re on the right track.
Shortlisted jumpers will be worn by our baby goats during Goats in Coats giving you the unforgettable chance to see your knitting on one of our kids.
All entries will also be proudly displayed at the festival. Make sure you include your name and contact details with your entry.
There are few bragging rights better than:
“I knitted that… and that goat is wearing it.”
Shortlisted jumpers will be judged live at Goats in Coats on Saturday 11 April by our special guest judge:
