Can I just turn up and visit Lunan Bay Farm?
No. Lunan Bay Farm is a working farm rather than a visitor attraction that is open every day.
Private Experiences must be booked in advance and our larger events take place on specific advertised dates.
Where is Lunan Bay Farm?
Our main visitor site is on the south side of Lunan Bay beside Red Castle in Angus, Scotland.
Please use the directions provided with your booking, as our entrance is different from the main public Lunan Bay beach car park.
How many locations does Lunan Bay Farm operate from?
We operate visitor experiences from two locations.
Private Experiences and Goat Therapy Retreats take place at our Lunan Bay visitor site beside Red Castle.
Our annual Goats in Coats Festival takes place at Myreside Farm near Inverkeilor.
Always check the location shown on your booking confirmation before travelling.
Is Lunan Bay a petting farm?
No. Lunan Bay Farm is a working regenerative farm and specialist Cashmere goat farm.
Our visitor experiences allow people to meet our animals while learning about Cashmere, textiles, animal welfare, regenerative farming and Scottish rural life.
Our goats are working livestock rather than petting-farm animals and their welfare always comes first.
What is Scottish Regenerative Cashmere?
Our Cashmere is grown by our own herd of Cashmere goats here in Scotland as part of our regenerative farming system.
Visitors can discover the journey from our goats naturally growing their winter coats, through the careful harvesting and processing of the fibre, to finished Scottish yarns and textiles.
Can I visit the Goat to Garment shop without booking an experience?
Our Goat to Garment shop primarily forms part of our visitor experiences rather than operating as a conventional shop with daily opening hours.
If you would specifically like to visit the shop, please contact us before travelling.
Our online shop is open through our website.
Do you sell gift vouchers?
Yes. Gift vouchers are available and make a lovely present for someone who would enjoy visiting Lunan Bay Farm or choosing something from our farm collection.

What happens if the weather is bad?
Goats in Coats will normally continue in typical Scottish weather and we have covered areas around the farm.
Please check the forecast before travelling and dress appropriately.
On the very rare occasion that severe weather means we need to cancel for safety or animal-welfare reasons, ticket holders will be contacted and a full refund will be issued.
Are there toilets available?
Yes. Visitor toilet and handwashing facilities are available.
Is Lunan Bay Farm accessible?
We aim to make our experiences accessible to as many people as possible and have accessible visitor facilities.
As this is a working farm, some surfaces and areas are naturally more challenging than others.
If you have mobility, sensory or other accessibility requirements, please contact us before your visit so we can give you accurate advice and help you plan your experience.
Can I bring a pushchair?
Yes. Pushchairs are welcome and the main visitor route is suitable for them.
As this is a working farm, some outdoor surfaces may be uneven or affected by wet weather.
Can I bring my dog?
Only service and guide dogs are permitted within the farm visitor areas and must be kept on a lead.
Other dogs are permitted in the car park area but cannot enter the farm or animal areas.
Can I take photographs?
Yes. Personal photographs and videos are very welcome.
We love seeing your Goats in Coats photographs, so please tag @lunanbayfarm when sharing them on social media.
Professional photography, filming or commercial content creation should be arranged with us in advance.
Can I change or cancel my tickets?
Please refer to the ticket terms supplied when you book for details of cancellations, transfers and changes.
If you have an issue with an existing booking, please contact us as early as possible.
Is parking available?
Yes. Free onsite parking is available for visitors attending pre-booked experiences and events.
Please follow the arrival instructions supplied with your booking.
Can I travel to Lunan Bay Farm without a car?
The nearest railway station is Montrose. Visitors travelling by public transport can continue from Montrose by taxi.
Contact us directly about transfers to and from the train station.
Can you accommodate groups?
Yes. We regularly welcome private groups, textile and knitting groups, travel trade visitors, corporate groups and special-interest tours.
Experiences can be tailored around interests including Scottish Cashmere, textiles, regenerative agriculture, food and Scottish rural life.

Do you work with tour operators and travel agents?
Yes. We work with UK and international tour operators, destination management companies, travel advisors and specialist textile tour companies.
